Traceability definition

Traceability or Requirements Traceability, allows requirements to be linked with each other or other work-products. It is used in software development and systems engineering as an activity within requirements management. Requirements Traceability allows to follow the life of a requirement from its origin tracking all changes made to it. In order to do so it might be necessary to document every change. Traceability also refers to how related requirements impact each other.
