Description:
When developing a system, standards such as ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 provide guidelines for structuring and controlling system development tasks. ISO/IEC/IEEE also acknowledges that some parts of the system may be acquired rather than developed. This means there is a need to exchange data with external bidders and suppliers. However, the standards typically provide little or no guidance on how to manage data exchange with external parties, ensuring that both SE needs and Acquisition rules are considered.
To address these needs, the REUSE Company has developed an additional capability to the SES ENGINEERING Studio that addresses controlled data exchange in early phases with multiple candidate suppliers. This new part of SES, called Acquisition Studio (AcqS), provides a simple but powerful way to exchange data with multiple parties in early stages, where formal procedures for data exchanges typically have not been established.
With all requirements data developed and stored in the tools of choice on the Acquirer’s side, generic files that support active input validation, dynamic change indication, and protection of frozen data are used for data exchange. This requires no setup or preparation at the external party, and still, an unbroken chain of traceability and history is supported on the Acquirer’s side. Since active input control is used, the responses from different bidders will be easily comparable, which simplifies evaluation and assures equal treatment of bidders.
This webinar will elaborate on the possibilities provided by SES ENGINEERING Studio and AcqS and demonstrate some of the key features in the early data exchange.
The target group for this webinar is project managers and other project members of projects that handle the Acquisition of complex systems.
