Knowledge Manager

The SMARTer way to manage Knowledge

Manages terminology and vocabulary
Supports breakdown structures
Manages the knowledge models that better represent your project
Helps you to create the patterns used during authoring and control
Provides methods for automatic generation of Ontologies
Manages knowledge evolution over time
Manages and reuses knowledge libraries

Knowledge is the most valuable asset in your organization. An engineers’ explicit and tacit knowledge, together with the know-how of the organization is a key element to success. Being able to reuse knowledge assets and guidelines is a must for every system and/or software project.

Knowledge should be gathered from different sources, stored in safe repositories and accessed by the appointed personnel at the appropriate time.

Knowledge Manager (KM) allows you to manage knowledge from the systems engineering point of view and to store, in a common System Knowledge Base, valuable information from requirements, models, system architectures and other documents.

Benefits of KM

Quality - The more knowledge you manage in KM, the more advanced analysis can be performed with V&V Studio, Traceability Studio and RAT.

Time - The creation of System Knowledge Bases or Ontologies can be semi-automatic thanks to KM. Furthermore, the ways of communicating provided by KM, between knowledge owners and authors and modelers, can speed up the creation of such knowledge structures.

Money - Proper knowledge management is an asset for your organization that translates into earnings and savings.

Description

Knowledge Manager (KM)

KM is designed to manage all the knowledge needed for your systems/software intensive projects, by storing valuable information (knowledge) into structured knowledge repositories, allowing easy access to the different project agents and rapid knowledge maintenance. Knowledge, organized within a System Knowledge Repository, supported by ontologies and knowledge libraries, are used by the Verification Studio (V&V Studio), the Traceability Studio and the Authoring Tools (RAT).

KM allows the management of the System Knowledge Repository (SKR), its System Knowledge Base (SKB) and all assets involved in the requirement and modelling improvement process.
